From the reading research questions and thesis statements, audience, and purpose; I learned the research questions is neither too broad nor too narrow. I can argument or support my question that means I should have my own opinion, and I should be interested in it. The thesis statement is the summary about what I want to talk about my entire paper. I can connect the first paragraph and body paragraphs. Therefore, it is very important in the paper. The audience is people who you want to let them read and hear your opinion what you researched. Purpose is the reason that you wrote and researched your topic.
My research question: The business model and next generation of Microsoft.
Thesis statement: I did my search and found Microsoft company is the best computer soft company because it has advanced business model and a good plan about next generation.
The audience: People who are interested in business and want to know something about Microsoft.
Purpose: I want to find more information about Microsoft's business model and future plan.

Yeah, Dvorack is pretty well known in this particular field. Nice find on that source, and nice job with the APA format.
ReplyDeleteLet's work on the question, thesis, audience, and purpose.
The question isn't a question at all...it's a sentence. Why don't we begin by revising the question so that it is actually a question.
THEN we can work on revising the thesis, audience, and purpose.
Please post your revised question as a comment here.
My question is Why the Microsoft corporation can become the best soft corporation in the world.
ReplyDeleteSo, your focus is Microsoft?
ReplyDeleteI checked the Facebook group, and you've identified non-specialists as your audience, but which non-specialists? We need to be specific.
We also need a research question, a thesis, an audience, and a purpose.
You need these things for your proposal that is due tomorrow, so please post your reply as a comment here.
Yea, My focus is Microsoft because the topic is huge before. I should reduce the range about my topic. So, I choose to talk about Microsoft.
ReplyDeleteMy question: What's Microsoft corporation's advanced busines model and particular conception?
Thesis: Microsoft corporation is the best and biggest computer software corporation in the world. It developed fast and control almost the whole software market cause of advanced business and particular conception. For example, "next-generation internet services platform".
Audience: non-specialists,(undergraduate students they are studying business or computer)
My purpose: Explain and analyze what is Microsoft corporation's advanced busines model and particular conception, and that let audience know more information about Microsoft.
This is much more focused, and we can work with this for now. When you presented yesterday, I saw that you had narrowed and focused your topic and revised your question, thesis, audience and purpose.
